We have several old TV’s that are pretty much obsolete now – being replaced by flat screen tvs. How do you dispose of them?
Thanks for any advice,
Harold

I’ve used the site earth911.com with good success when I have had various things in my home that couldn’t just be thrown away.

Check with your trash pick up company to see if they will take them. Some do. Also, check in your township for the electronics recycling schedule. I have taken them to those locations. They provide a list of what you can and cannot bring.
I know someone who may take them off your hands.
Here are several suggestions beyond what has already been suggested:
If they are in working order you can donate them to organizations like Habitat for Humanity (ReStore) they may stop taking them at some point but the one in Chalfont still welcomes them.
Many communities and charitable organizations are collecting them for recycling (they get a few dollars a piece for them. Check community bulletin boards.
Bucks County hosts recycling drives for old computers and electronics once or twice a year (usually at schools in the south or central part of the county) you can normally find these times on community websites. In small quantities it is free.
Donate them to your church or synagogue. Many times the need is there if they are working and are fine for viewing videotapes or DVD’s on in classrooms
